Sheboygan County YMCA along with Coulis Cardiology hosting the” 2015 YMCA/Coulis Cardiology Freedom Run”. The run begins at 7:30 AM. The assembly point and registration will be near the Sheboygan YMCA on Broughton Drive. The route of the run is from the Sheboygan County YMCA north on Broughton Drive, up the hill, turning north onto Barrett Street, running to Park Avenue, west on Park Avenue to N. 3 Street, turning north and running north to North Avenue, turning north onto N. 6 Street, running up to the turn around that is just north of Pershing Avenue and then returning along the same route. Monitors will be at the intersections. Broughton Drive from Wisconsin Avenue north and up the hill to Barrett Street will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking prohibited beginning at 7:00 AM on the 4th.
14th Street Bridge Closes
WIS 28 (N 14th Street) Bridge over the Sheboygan River will be closed starting Monday, July 6th, 2015. The bridge is expected to reopen early November 2015. During construction, closure and detour information is as follows:
- WI 28 will be closed to traffic from Niagara Avenue to Ontario Avenue.
- The detour will follow Erie Avenue, Kohler Memorial Drive (WI 23), Taylor Avenue (County TA), and Indiana Avenue (County PP).
- WI 28 access to Niagara Avenue will be maintained from the south.

Fireworks
Festival Fireworks begin at 9:00 P.M. and launch from South Pier.
After the fireworks, traffic flow will be restricted at the Rotary Intersection at S 8th Street and Indiana Avenue.
There will be no north bound traffic allowed on S 8th Street from the round-about intersection.
– All traffic coming south across the 8th Street Bridge will ONLY be allowed to proceed WEST on Indiana Avenue from the round-about intersection.
– All traffic coming out of South Pier Drive will ONLY be allowed to proceed SOUTH on S 8th Street from the round-about intersection.
– There will be no east bound traffic permitted on Pennsylvania Avenue beyond 14th Street.
– If you view the fireworks from north of the Sheboygan River and have to get back to the south side, we suggest leaving west on Pennsylvania, Erie or Superior Avenues, and using 14th Street or Taylor Drive to go south.
– If you view the fireworks from south of the Sheboygan River and have to get back to the north side, we suggest turning west on Georgia Avenue or Broadway Avenue to reach South Business Drive and turn north.
We will attempt to have Officers manning the traffic lights on 14th Street to facilitate movement. Remember that everyone wants to leave at once and that is just not going to happen. Please be patient, and watch for pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Everyone is encouraged to walk or use a bicycle if practical.
– Boats and Watercraft: Boats and Watercraft must remain clear of public beaches.
JMKAC Art Fest
The JMKAC Art Fest will be held at JMKAC grounds, and also on the following streets;
N 7th Street/Wisconsin Avenue and N 7th Street/New York Avenue. These roads will be closed to through traffic.

Neighborhood Meeting
There is a neighborhood meeting for the following neighborhoods; South Calumet, Cleveland Park, Garden, and Field of Dreams. The meeting will be on Friday, July 17th, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 2104 Geele Avenue, at 6:00 P.M.
July 4th Parade
For the Parade, Broughton Drive will remain closed to vehicle traffic and parking prohibited from Michigan Avenue south to Wisconsin Avenue for the whole day. The parade will start at N. 8 Street and Center Avenue. The parade will proceed north to Michigan Avenue, then east on Michigan Avenue to Broughton Drive, and then south on Broughton Drive to Ontario Avenue and Deland Park.
The following roads will then be closed to traffic with parking prohibited for the parade assembly area starting at 7:00 AM:
- N. 7 Street from Pennsylvania Avenue north to Niagara Avenue
- the 600 blocks of Wisconsin Avenue
- 600-700 blocks of New York Avenue
- the 600-800 blocks of Center Avenue
- the 500 block of N. 8 Street.
Parking on the parade route will also be prohibited starting at 7:00 AM. Vehicles parked on the route will be ticketed and towed.
Reserving a spot for the Independence Day Parade:
-We would like to remind the community that the policy of the City of Sheboygan is that you may bring tarps and chairs to hold a spot between the sidewalk and street along the parade route after 5:00 AM on July 4, 2015. Any items placed out prior to that time will be considered abandoned property and may be removed. This is to help minimize the amount of over-night vandalism and help to prevent conflicts over those spots.
