Welcome to the Public Safety Cadets program. We prepare young adults for careers in leadership in the public safety fields through hands-on training and mentoring. The program is open to young adults, 14-21 years of age, who are interested in a career in law enforcement/public safety professions, or other related professions involving community service.
We meet monthly on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month. Cadets learn law enforcement related skills and techniques in the classroom and through hands-on training including: Handcuffing, Pistol/Rifle/Shotgun, Defense and Arrest Tactics, Radar/Laser, Scenarios, Evidence Collection, Vehicle Contacts, Crisis Intervention, Special Weapons and Tactics, OWI Investigations, Radio Communications, Investigating, Team Building Games, off-site game days, etc.
We also focus on community involvement. Events include Sheboygan Parade Setup and Duty, Cops and Bobbers, Shop with a Cop, Kids Bike Rodeo, Blue Santa, Community Barbeque, Junior Police Academy, National Night Out, Vehicle Theft/Entry Protection, Bicycle Theft Prevention, and Police Department training role players.

After the application materials are received, a background check will be completed. You will then be notified by an advisor about the next steps. If you are accepted there is a $60 fee that covers the annual membership and uniform fee.
