Drug Take Back
As part of the “Dose of Reality,” campaign to reduce prescription drug abuse and the unsafe disposing of unwanted medication, there will be a community-wide drug take back initiative at various (additional) locations.
Howards Grove – Village Hall, 913 South Wisconsin Dr.
Oostburg – Municipal Building, 1140 Minnesota Ave.
Plymouth – Generations, 1500 Douglas Dr.
Random Lake – Fire Department, 718 Spring St.
GUIDELINES:
All waste pharmaceuticals must be generated by a household – no businesses are allowed.
Bring: Prescription (controlled and non-controlled) and over-the-counter medications, ointments, patches, inhalers, non-aerosol sprays, creams, vials and pet medications.
DO NOT BRING: Illegal drugs, needles/sharps, acids, aerosol cans, bio-hazardous materials (anything containing a bodily fluid or blood), personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens), household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, oil, gas), mercury thermometers.
Participants may dispose of solid, non-liquid medication(s) by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into a disposal box or into a clear sealable plastic bag. Plastic pill containers should not be collected. Blister packages without the medications being removed are acceptable.
Liquids will be accepted during this initiative. However, the liquids, creams and sprays must be in their original packaging and their weight evenly distributed within the boxes of collected solid prescription medications. Liquids without the original packaging will not be accepted.
Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of this initiative and should not be placed in collection containers.

Explorer Post Meeting
There is an Explorer Post Meeting every 1st and 3rd Monday from 6:30-8:30 PM.
What are Law Enforcement Explorers?
Law Enforcement Exploring is a hands-on program open to young men and women who have completed the 6th grade through 20 years old, interested in a career in law enforcement or a related field in the criminal justice system.
The program offers young adults a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences, competition, and other activities.

Application Deadline! Citizen Academy
Hurry! Today is the deadline to apply for the 2017 Sheboygan Police Department’s Citizen Academy!
The Sheboygan Police Department Citizens Academy starts on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. This is an eleven-week program that runs through May 23, 2017. Each class starts at 6:30 PM and will be approximately three hours long.
The program provides citizens an opportunity to gain knowledge and a better understanding of the vision, values, goals, and operations of the Sheboygan Police Department. It is designed to be interactive and involves lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, and an open floor for discussion.
Additional activities involve hands-on participation, such as, high-risk and low-risk traffic stops, shoot-don’t shoot exercises, a tour of the Sheboygan County Jail, along with firearms instruction and use at the range.

“Coffee with a Cop” provides an opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the Sheboygan Police Departments efforts within their community.
