On 7/11/16, at approximately 6:30PM, Sheboygan Police were dispatched to the beach area of Kings Park in Sheboygan on a report of a 14-year-old boy who entered Lake Michigan in the rough surf and had not resurfaced. Several officers responded to the beach and located the 14-year-old male victim approximately 40 yards from the shore in approximately 5 feet of water. Family members, who were also swimming, said they too had struggled in the strong under tow. They explained victim had been swimming and began to struggle after drifting into deeper water. The victim was taken to shore by responding officers who performed CPR until Sheboygan Fire EMS arrived on scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital before being transported to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee by Flight for Life. The victim remains in critical condition at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
