Help Us Prevent Thefts from Vehicles

August 25, 2023 by Cal Stoffel

Attention, Sheboygan! Help us prevent thefts from your vehicles by following these three simple steps:

  1. TAKE YOUR KEYS from the vehicle. Virtually all stolen vehicles in Sheboygan are due to keys being left in the vehicle overnight or while running unattended.
  2. REMOVE VALUABLES from the vehicle, especially if they can be seen from outside of it. Your vehicle is less of a target if it doesn’t look like there’s anything inside worth stealing.
  3. LOCK YOUR VEHICLES and close all the windows. Almost every theft from a vehicle that happens in Sheboygan is made possible because the thief can simply open your car and take what’s inside. Locking your car works to keep thieves out.

A handful of recent overnight thefts from vehicles were reported to the SPD across several neighborhoods. You can help us prevent these kinds of crimes and save yourself from being a victim of theft. Talk to your family and neighbors and remind them to lock up their cars too. Thank you for being a part of keeping Sheboygan safe!
