In partnership with the Mayor’s Office and Black-American Community Outreach, we are hosting a series of pop-up community BBQ picnics. These picnics will positively bring together representatives from City Government, the Police Department, Black-American Community Outreach, and community members in a positive atmosphere to celebrate the things that unify us.
Black-American Community Outreach is a new non-profit organization that has been created to uplift our community. They are working to support community members with resources and tools in an effort to promote and encourage economic growth, academic success, and job skills while providing opportunities to serve.
The picnics will take place on the following dates, and each will run from 11:00am to 1:00pm:
- Saturday, September 12th, 2020
- Saturday, September 19th, 2020
- Saturday, September 26th, 2020
- Saturday, October 3rd, 2020
All events will be outdoors, and each picnic is designed to avoid large crowds. We will ask everyone to maintain social distancing and to use masks as appropriate.
Black-American Community Outreach will be releasing a series of clues this week on their Facebook page before revealing the surprise location of the final picnic to take place Saturday, October 3rd, 2020. The reveal will take place on Facebook live on Saturday morning, October 3rd, 2020. Please continue to watch their page for more clues and for the reveal.
We hope to see you there!
