SPD is participating in a new initiative to combat drunk driving in our community. Our agency will team up with 8 other law enforcement agencies in Sheboygan & Manitowoc Counties for a High-Visibility Education and Enforcement (HVEE) or (HVE2).
On Sunday, November 22nd, we are offering a virtual ride-along during the HVEE initiative. The “tweet-along” will begin at 6:00 pm and conclude at 10:00 pm. During the HVE2 tweet-along, officers will be looking for drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The officer will tweet about his/her traffic stops, calls for service as well as educating our community about this nationwide epidemic.
The goal is not to arrest more drunk drivers. The goal is to deter drunk driving, so that we can reach our ultimate goal of zero preventable traffic deaths.
