On October 9th, 2017, at approximately 11:22 AM, the Sheboygan Police Department, and the Sheboygan Fire Department responded to 925 High Avenue, in Sheboygan, to investigate a report of a shooting.  The investigation revealed that the 29 year- old male resident was attempting to clean his 9 mm handgun.  During the cleaning process, the victim pointed the gun towards the ground to clear the action and accidentally discharged it, striking himself in the right ankle.  The resident was transported to Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The Sheboygan Police Department will not be seeking any criminal charges in connection with the incident

During the early morning hours of October 2^nd, 2017, the Sheboygan Police Department responded to take reports of several burglaries to businesses on the south side of the city.  The suspect in these cases entered the businesses by breaking glass windows or doors.  Currently, our department has taken reports from ten businesses and the Sheboygan County Sherriff’s Department is investigating similar incidents in the county.  Based on digital evidence from surveillance photos, it appears that the suspect may be responsible for several of these cases in both jurisdictions.

 

The attached photos of the suspect are being released in hopes that a citizen might recognize the suspect.  If any citizen needs to report additional crimes, or has information about these investigations, they are encouraged to contact the Sheboygan Police or the Sheboygan County Sherriff’s Department.  Citizens wishing to remain anonymous are encouraged to call the Sheboygan County Crime Stoppers line to give their information and maybe be eligible for cash rewards if it leads to an arrest.  (1-877-283-8436)

On 8/25/17, Sheboygan Police responded to a disturbance at a private residence in 1900 block of North 12th Street, in Sheboygan.  As a result of the ongoing investigation, Sheboygan Police are treating the incident as a robbery and have identified a suspect identified as Jeffery G. Holm Jr., age 27.  The suspect and victim are known to each other and this is not a random act.  The investigation is ongoing and additional details are not being released at this time.

On 8/16/17, at approximately 5:42 PM, Sheboygan Police responded to the 1200 block of S. 19th  Street,  in Sheboygan,  for a report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, investigating officers determined that a 25-year-old male subject had received a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg during a physical altercation with two other male subjects.  The victim received treatment at a local hospital.  Police have identified the two suspects in this incident and are actively attempting to locate them.   The suspects and victim are known to each other.  The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Sheboygan Police at 920-459-3333.

UPDATE: Sheboygan Police have identified and arrested a 47-year-old Sheboygan man, who is believed to be the male suspect in the photos from the robbery reported at United One Credit Union on August 14, 2017.  The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information about this incident is asked to contact the Sheboygan Police Department at 920-459-3333.

 On Monday, August 14^th, 2017 at approximately 4:44 PM, Sheboygan Police responded to a report of a robbery at the UnitedOne Credit Union, 2122 Superior Avenue.  Employees reported that a man entered the bank and demanded money.  No weapon was displayed. The suspect is described as a male, white between 6 foot and 6 foot 2 inches tall.  He also had a graying goatee and did not harm anybody inside the bank.  Once the employees complied with his demands the suspect left on foot.  Please see the attached photos of the suspect and anyone with information is asked to call Sheboygan Police at 920-459-3333.

 

 

On 8/7/17, the Sheboygan Police Department responded to a report of a burglary at Shopko, 518 S. Taylor Drive, Sheboygan.  The investigation revealed that a male party had entered the store prior to closing on 8/4/17 and concealed himself in the store until employees left.  The suspect then removed various articles of merchandise before exiting the store several hours later.  The suspect, who was captured on store surveillance cameras, is described as a male, with a darker complexion, wearing a baseball style hat, short sleeved shirt, jeans, and sneakers.  We are asking citizens to view the suspect captured on video and see the attached press release for photos.   Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Sheboygan Police Department at (920) 459-3334. 08-08-17 Shopko Burglary

 

On June 22, 2017, at 10:31 pm, officers from the Sheboygan Police Department were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of N 13^th and Bluff Ave. A Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling west on Bluff Ave, driven by a 27-year-old male from Sheboygan. The Jeep failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, striking a southbound Buick Rendezvous, driven by a 19-year-old female from Sheboygan. The Buick left the roadway, traveling through a fence and coming to rest against the residence of 1323 Bluff Ave. There is no reported damage to the residence at this time. All three had minor injuries and transported themselves to the hospital.

 

The driver of the Jeep was cited for Operate with No Driver License and Failure to yield right of way.

UPDATE:
On 6/26/17, Sheboygan Police arrested a 37-year-old male in connection with this incident as well three other earlier incidents. The investigation revealed that the subject had been in a previous relationship with the victim and was responsible for this and other incidents involving vandalism to the victim’s vehicle.  A 27-year-old male was also arrested and released from custody for also damaging the victim’s vehicle at the request of the first subject. The investigation is on-going to determine the cause of the other recent vehicle fires to determine if they are connected.

On 6/21/17, at approximately 02:48 AM, the Sheboygan Police Department, and the Sheboygan Fire Department responded to the 900 block of N. 26th Street,  in Sheboygan, for a vehicle fire in a private driveway.  There were no injuries in connection with the incident and Sheboygan Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire.  Anyone with any information is asked to contact Sheboygan Police at  (920) 459-3333.

The Sheboygan Police Department will begin a period of strict enforcement of the City of Sheboygan’s fireworks ordinance effective immediately.  The illegal discharge of fireworks within city limits can pose a significant risk of personal injury, fire and disturbing the peace and tranquility of neighborhoods.  Illegal fireworks will be seized and violators will face substantial forfeitures.

City ordinance 50-696 to 50-698 describes fireworks as follows:
Fireworks means anything manufactured, processed or packaged for exploding, emitting sparks or combustion, which does not have another common use.  Additionally, no person may sell, possess, use or discharge any fireworks within the city, except those that are specifically approved by the common council, and conducted by or on behalf of the city.

Fireworks are prohibited to possess and use in the City of Sheboygan, regardless if they were purchased and possessed legally in other parts of the state.  Violators will face forfeitures in excess of $250 per violation.  Parents or legal guardians of a minor who consent to the use of fireworks by the minor will also face similar forfeitures. Additionally, discharging fireworks in a crowded area may result in violations of the criminal code.

On 5/10/17, at approximately 12:10PM, Sheboygan Police responded to the Clark Station, 2709 N. 15th Street, for a report of a robbery. The attendant stated a masked subject entered the station demanding money while making threatening gestures with his hands to the attendant.  The suspect then left the scene in a vehicle.   Investigating officers released a description of the suspect vehicle that was subsequently located by the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department in the area of I-43 and near Cedar Grove.  A year 28-year-old male and a 25-year-old female along with her juvenile daughter were taken into custody and transported to the Sheboygan Police Department.   The male suspect was placed in the Sheboygan County Detention Center.  Sheboygan Police will be referring a charge of robbery to the Sheboygan Count District Attorney’s Office.
