2020 Citizen Academy

January 21, 2020 by Cal Stoffel

The Sheboygan Police Department will be hosting its 25th Annual Citizen Academy starting on March 17, 2020 and concluding on May 26, 2020. The Citizens Academy will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and is an 11 week course.

The Citizen Academy is designed to be interactive through lectures, demonstrations and practical exercises. The purpose of the academy is to provide stakeholders of the City of Sheboygan an understanding of the police department and its functions and to enhance relationships between the community and police department. Participants will be exposed to many areas of police work ranging from the hiring process, current department initiatives, police investigations, use of force, and the legal system.

Please visit our Citizen Academy page for more information, including instructions on how to apply.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have no felony convictions. Background checks will be conducted on all applicants. The application deadline is February 28, 2020.

For questions or concerns, contact Sergeant Andy Kundinger at andrew.kundinger@sheboyganwi.gov or call 920-459-3352.
