Fourth Annual Walk for Unity and Community BBQ
Come be a part of what makes Sheboygan great! Join us at Fountain Park in Sheboygan on Saturday 8/19 at 10:00am. We will start the Walk for Unity at 10am, carry a ribbon to Peace Park for our unity ceremony, then return to Fountain Park for free brats, burgers, and lots of fun! We will be joined by the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County, Mead Public Library, Uptown Social, John Michael Kohler Arts Center and more with activities and resources at the park.
Special thanks to Festival Foods, Tietz’s Piggly Wiggly, Miesfeld’s Triangle Market, and Killian Management/McDonald’s for again supporting our free community meal. See you there!
“Trunk or Treat” Kid-Friendly Event
Ballhorn Chapels is hosting “Trunk or Treat” on Saturday, October 22 from 1pm to 4pm in their lot at 1201 N 8th St, Sheboygan. This kid-friendly event will feature goodies from local businesses in addition to hot dogs, apple cider, and a bake sale. Don’t forget the silent auction and face painting too! No cost to attend but all donations will go to our K-9 Unit. See the flyer below for more details.
Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Healthy Sheboygan County, in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will hold a Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 22nd from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at four drive-thru drop-off locations throughout Sheboygan County. This is a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposal:
- Plymouth – Generations, 1500 Douglas Dr., Plymouth, 53073
- Random Lake – Fire Department, 718 Spring St., Random Lake, 53075
- Sheboygan – HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital, 3100 Superior Ave. Sheboygan, 53081
- Sheboygan Falls – Sheboygan Falls Police Department, 375 Buffalo St., Sheboygan Falls, 53085
If you will be going to the St. Nicholas Hospital drop-off location, use the North Taylor Dr entrance on the western side of the complex, indicated by the arrow. During the day of the event, signs in the parking lot will direct you to the drop-off location, symbolized by a star.
GUIDELINES:
Household waste pharmaceuticals only – no businesses allowed.
Bring: Prescription (controlled and non-controlled) and over-the-counter medications, ointments, patches, inhalers, non-aerosol sprays, creams, vials and pet medications. It is recommended that participants bring their medications in the original pill containers. You may cross your name off of any labels ahead of time.
Do Not Bring: Illegal drugs, needles/sharps, acids, aerosol cans, bio-hazardous materials (anything containing a bodily fluid or blood), personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens), household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, oil, gas), mercury thermometers.
- Liquids will be accepted during this initiative. However, the liquids, creams and sprays must be in their original packaging. Liquids without the original packaging will not be accepted.
- Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of this initiative and should not be placed in collection containers.

Landlord Training Fall 2022
The City of Sheboygan is now accepting applications for the fall session of their Landlord Training Program, which will take place on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at City Hall in the Council Chambers. The registration deadline is Friday, October 21, 2022, and the cost is $10.
What you can expect to learn from the Landlord Training Program:
- How code compliance (preparing the property) can protect your rights as a landlord.
- The benefits of fair and legal practices of tenant screening. How to implement them.
- Action you must take if you discover illegal activities at your property.
- An overview of legal rights and responsibilities for both tenants and landlords.
You will also be able to get your questions answered by a local attorney who specializes in landlord/tenant law. The training will also have members of the MEG Unit, Police Department, Fire Department, and City Planning & Building Inspection available for questions and answers as they present their roles in landlord/tenant safety.
The program includes a 100+ page resource manual, training materials, and light food and beverages. All RSVP’s are required before Friday, October 21, 2022.

3rd Annual Walk For Unity & Community BBQ
Join the Sheboygan Police Department, City of Sheboygan, and Black-American Community Outreach for our 3rd Annual Community Barbecue and Walk for Unity! We are merging the events this year and hope to bring an even bigger part of the community together to show how our togetherness and cooperation make us great.
We will meet at Fountain Park on Saturday, August 20th @ 10am and walk to Peace Park as a group before walking back to Fountain Park for a FREE lunch. See you there!
